Topshop is one of the leading fast fashion brands worldwide. The brand originated in Britain but quickly gained popularity and loyal customers through a strong brand identity. Topshop is a brand that strives to bring the latest trends to its international customers while still remaining true to the British vision and style. The Topshop style can be described as a marriage of classic and vintage silhouettes with the latest, most cutting-edge trends making it easy for the Topshop customer to find something that makes them feel trendy and confident. The brand is always delivering updated key fashion pieces to satisfy the savvy target customer.

Topshop was my brand of choice for this project because my style is very much trend-based while incorporating staple silhouettes that are universal and versatile. I used my personal style inspiration along with trend research based on previous merchandising and assortment plans and designs from aspirational fashion houses like Saint Laurent to aid in my process of bringing my S/S 19 Topshop line from concept to completion. Trends I incorporated into my designs include the slip dress, exaggerated tops, and asymmetrical cuts. I drew influences from Rihanna's Fenty x Puma line which embodies an innovative and elevated athleisure fashion style while combining feminine elements with functionality. The concept for the S/S 19 line also drew influences from nature and wellness, hence the florals and bright hues. Technology was also an inspiration, promoting progressiveness, efficiency, and mobility.
